Building models of historical interest is not just a challenge we relish, it is a journey through time, a deep dive into the meticulous details of marine architecture and engineering. The intricacies involved in these projects go beyond just assembling parts; they require detailed research into the archives, sifting through a vast amount of data available on the ship to ensure technical accuracy. The ultimate goal is the creation of a model that not only resembles but faithfully replicates its original counterpart.

Constructing these models is no easy feat. Each ship is unique, with its own story and distinctive features. In many cases, there are ongoing debates about what constitutes “authenticity” in terms of the level of detail that should be displayed at a particular scale. A prime example is the Titanic, the infamous passenger liner whose tragic sinking has sparked countless discussions in model-building circles, each arguing over the interpretation of the vast research data available.

Our clients are given two options when it comes to research. Some choose to conduct their own exploration into the history and design of the ship, providing us with drawings, photographs, and other pertinent information. In these cases, we provide technical advice and guidance on how to evaluate and interpret the raw research data. This ensures that the model we build is accurate in every detail that can be showcased at the chosen scale.

Alternatively, we offer to carry out the research ourselves, relying upon our team of experienced technicians and their proficiency in using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) to create precise blueprints. This approach is subject to authentication by a competent person appointed by the client or a recognised body or organisation such as a maritime museum. Whichever path our clients choose, they can rest assured that the final model will be a true reflection of the ship’s glory.

Our craftsmen take great pride in the quality of their work. With their hands, they transform raw materials into handcrafted works of art, each model a testament to their skill and dedication. Each project, whether it is a single model or a series of models of the same ship, is a collaborative effort. We work closely with our clients, keeping them updated at every stage and exchanging technical data, drawings and pictures quickly and conveniently via e-mail.

Here are some examples of scale models built by our craftsmen. Behind each thumbnail are enlarged images showcasing the finer details and the impeccable craftsmanship that goes into every model. Each model is a testament to our commitment to quality, precision and authenticity.
